Random Artifacts
A couple of artifacts I've been meaning to post for a while. I wish the photos had come out a little better, especially the creamware sherd.
On the left: a prehistoric painted redware potsherd given to me free-with-purchase in March 2008 at Besh-Ba-Gowah Ruins, Arizona. Probably from a large jar. Culture/provenance unknown.
On the right: late nineteenth-century plain creamware sherd, found in Washington DC on Inauguration Day 2009, not far off the path leading from the Washington Monument to the Reflecting Pool. Probably from a plate.
They live on one of my bookshelves.
