It was a steaming morass of cultural appropriation fail, actually! There were bad-guy Indians everywhere and a mural of a Mexican in jail next to the bathrooms. D: The museum was very kitschy, in a wannabe-Elvis sort of way. I had a chicken sandwich - I've been craving chicken, they don't eat birds much here except puffin - which was actually pretty good, if not quite as "Californian" as advertised! (I'm getting a little tired of cucumbers on sandwiches.) The radio station itself plays modern American country, classic country, & general American oldies, with the occasional hilarious song or random Icelandic thing tossed in for good measure.
Some of the people here love it, while others of us have been burning CDs like mad!
(There is, of course, Coke here. Coke Light is not the same as Diet Coke, however. And I've yet to see a McDonald's, but I'll keep my eyes open in Reykjavik whenever we make it there!)
